Miwei is a Neuroscience graduate student who joined the Miller Lab in 2021. She earned her B.S. degree in chemistry and molecular cellular biology from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Upon graduation, she worked for two years in Dr. Brad Hyman’s lab at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School researching tau and cerebrovascular pathology in Alzheimer’s disease. Miwei has continued her interest in studying neurodegenerative diseases with the Miller Lab where she uses antisense oligonucleotides to modify and decrease toxic proteins found in Alzheimer’s disease and other tauopathies. Outside of the lab, she enjoys playing tennis, climbing, and jogging in Forest Park.
