Ephraim Oyetunji
Undergraduate Student
Ephraim is a junior at Washington University with interests in neurobiology, African and African American studies, and religious studies. Born in Nigeria and raised in South Florida, Ephraim came to the lab through the BP-ENDURE program and is now also a CDI Star Research Fellow. In the Miller lab, he studies how antisense oligonucleotides can be used to learn more about how the nervous system’s immune response can influence pathological protein buildup. With this work, he hopes to find a therapeutic target for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Ephraim aspires to be a physician who employs translational research to combat neurological disorders at the bench and in the clinic. Outside of lab, you may find Ephraim watching anime with friends, listening to Christian podcasts, or trying out new foods.
